An Unforgettable Night Out in the Entertainment Capital – Hong Kong

Irresistible to its urban core and a trading giant to be reckoned with Hong Kong is where Asia comes to party. Unbridled in its appetite for the new, fresh and fabulous, this singular island nation has earned its place on the world map as a key player when it comes to entertainment and amusements.

Home to the Hong Kong Dance Company, Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, the Hong Kong Ballet and the City Contemporary Dance Company and hosting annual events such as the Rugby Sevens, Symphony of Lights, the Hong Kong International Film Festival, Fashion Week, Winterfest and Man Hong Kong International Literary Festival, one will hardly be at a loss for things to do in this vibrant city state. When the sun goes down this bustling metropolis comes alive with a wide variety of activities and attractions to engage the senses. Lan Kwai Fong and Wan Chai regions close to the city’s Central District house some of the island’s trendiest bars such as Dublin Jack’s, The Keg and Stormies as well as Mexican themed Agave Bar. Bulldog’s Bar and Grill are other popular venues while Joe Banana’s is renowned as the preferred spot of celebrities the likes of Jean Claude Van Damme, Bon Jovi, Nicholas Cage and Jackie Chan. Dusk till Dawn and Horse and Groom are favourites among expats and locals alike in addition to Drop and KGB. For fine dining and funky clubs look no further than the party streets down Kowloon, why not drop in to Felix with its’ American Bar, Pacific Rim, Gastronomy, Perspex Box dancing hall and a wine bar. Aqua Spirit and the Fringe Club Roof Garden are also worth the visit in addition to Red, Bocas Tapas Wine Bar and the Kee Club. Serious clubbers must venture on to Lantau Island where China Bear and Bache are conveniently situated near the Silvermine Bay dock. Hong Kong’s dazzling Night Park in Tsim Sha Tsui is ideal for an all around entrainment experience, with its cinemas, promenades and restaurants. Want to try your luck? Step over to Asia’s Las Vegas in Macau where the country’s finest casinos are located. The MGM Grand Macau, Sands Macao and the Grand Lisboa are just some of the hotspots while other popular casinos include Pharaoh’s, the Golden Dragon Casino, Casa Real Casino, Galaxy StarWorld and Ponte 16.

Karaoke bars are also located all over the city while those looking for live entertainment will not be disappointed as Hong Kong is home to some of the world’s most famous live music venues. Backstage is all the rage right now with its young and hip patrons and its diverse musical offerings ranging from jazz to heavy metal. An intimate but stellar atmosphere makes this one of the island’s trendiest hangouts for music lovers. Other musical points of interest include Grappa’s Cellar, Cyberport and Peel Fresco where the region’s finest jazz musicians take the stage every night.

The Langham Place Mongkok Hong Kong is one of the city’s most popular venues by no coincidence. With its superior service and attention to detail this jewel among Hong Kong hotels offers contemporary amenities and luxury accommodation as a premier hotel Hong Kong Island is contented to claim as its own.

Rollicking Night Life in Hong Kong

After an exhausting day of sight seeing the only thing to do in Hong Kong is not to lay back and relax, but to dress up and head out to one of the many happening night spots in the city. Some of the best bars and pubs in Asia can be found in Hong Kong, beer and various alcoholic beverages from a multitude of countries flow freely; locals drink to a long hard day at work or for unrequited love while tourists head here to experience the vibrant nightlife of Hong Kong.

Night Clubs in Hong Kong can be segregated along the lines of their clientele, those that cater to locals and those that cater to tourists. Most of the cosmopolitan clubbing action takes place in Central but, if you prefer to go clubbing with just the locals, there are some fairly wild clubs in Causeway Bay and Tsim Sha Tsui.

Some of the best nightlife can be found on Hong Kong Island in the Lan Kwai Fong and the SoHo areas. Lan Kwai Fong is the hangout place in Hong Kong with superb international restaurants, bars and clubs. Catering to a predominately expat/international crowd, “Lan Kwai” is perfect for after-work drinks, intimate dinners and serious partying. On weeknights, crowds spill out onto the sloping streets as they mingle and enjoy their beers.

SoHo, or South of Hollywood Road is a neighborhood lined with charming international restaurants and cozy bars. Based around Elgin Street and Staunton Street, just off the Mid Levels escalator, SoHo is the more relaxed yet funky cousin to Lan Kwai Fong. Most of the restaurants in this neighborhood are very intimate and just walking through SoHo is like touring the world. Choices include Cajun jambalaya, Cuban guarapos, Indian tandoori, French crepes and Chinese noodles – there is something to suit all taste buds.

With in easy access of the party districts of Lan Kwai Fong and SoHo is a hotel in Hong Kong that gives tourists comfortable accommodation, Hotel Jen is located centrally so it not only gives access to the nightlife but to most other attractions in Hong Kong as well.
